Another Day in Paradise

January 15, 2011

When this is what you wake up to every morning. This post was almost titled <<GUILT>>

guilt  (ɡɪlt)

n
1. the fact or state of having done wrong or committed an offence
2. responsibility for a criminal or moral offence deserving punishment or a penalty
3. remorse or self-reproach caused by feeling that one is responsible for a wrong or offence
4. archaic  sin or crime

When you allow your kids to swim in the hot tub before they have even eaten breakfast.

When long walks replaced pencils, school books, laundry, dishes, computers, cell phones and so many must dos…

When you drive to Florida to spend time with friends from back home…

…and feeling carefree because you are so far from home…

When you search for alligators by sticking nets in the water…

And then feed them when you know you are not supposed to…

When you stop to smell the flowers because at home–everything is grey and white…

When you just can’t get enough of being so silly…

And the beach makes you feel so alive and free…

When you trade your boots and heavy socks–for flip-flops…

Then you start to believe that fairy tales really do come true…

And then you realize–this isn’t the road to guilt at all–

This is just another day in paradise…

I was beginning to wonder if paradise gave you a free pass to skip blogging for a month? Just joking…nice to hear from you.

Your pictures are fantastic. Wish our one and only trip to Florida had been paradise. We’ll tell you about it one day.

Holy Smokes! I love that Cinderella door sign. That was great. And I thought you were joking about them looking for gators with nets…until I saw the next picture. I would NOT have been comfortable with that at all. I’m such a wuss like that.

It was just a baby, April–they remove them from the canals when they get too big–we have been coming down here for 15 years now and have a very healthy respect for these gators! The neighbors all said they feed him; although, it really is illegal–just found that out!

No I can’t get off teaching…they are already letting Liz go so letting 2 teachers go is out of the question! 😦 Wish I could!
