Waiting

April 30, 2011

They don’t know they are waiting. Birds wake with the sun and sleep with the night. They carefully watch and protect-but they don’t know they are waiting. They make a journey so far to make a nest and build a home. They don’t overeat or take naps. They sing in the rain. When the wind comes-they cover themselves in leaves and things borrowed and kept. One day-I’ll fly away. To my home beyond the sky. Until then–I will take note of singing in the rain and not overeating and not taking naps and covering myself when the wind comes under the shadow of His Wings.

Psalms 91:4

He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

That is funny! My verse this morning was “In the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be over past.” Ps 57:1
