Let Me Count the Ways…

February 15, 2010

 Florida

For royal palms meeting a cloudless sky

For water not frozen

For trees that grow year round

For aloe not in a pot

For kumquats still with blooms

For Limes hidden by green

For oranges almost ripe

Because I’ve never seen a banana plant

And grapefruit ready to drop

Because roses are red

And flowers purple

For birds with unruffled feathers

And the sun too bright in my eyes

For short sleeves in February

And smiles and fun

For biking with no hills

And dolphins we pretend are sharks

For museums that interest me

And trellis of white

For nests way up high

And dreams that remain until there is no more snow…

I like it, Mom! Very interesting and thoughtful. It’s funny that Andrea and I saw a banana flower for the first time too in Tulum. They’re pretty neat looking.

So I guess everyone’s out to get the most sunshine these days! The post is great. Definitely things to be thankful for.
